Illuminosi was a contract engineering service specializing in data storage technologies. After many wonderful years in the industry, the principals have decided to retire.
Why
The high tech industry is no longer the exciting vibrant industry we once knew. The decisions that were once made for the benefit of all stakeholders on a long term basis are now mainly made for the benefit of major shareholders with a focus on an immediate pay off. That has led (we feel) to a consolidation of power in the industry that only benefits those few major shareholders while the other stakeholders such as customers, employees, users, suppliers etc. are left to fend for themselves.
It is our opinion that this change is detrimental to the ecosystem within the high tech industry. Time will tell if we are right.
With that in mind, it's time for us to move on to a new phase in our lives. One focused on family and friends. Travel will now be done for amusement instead of business reasons.
How
While we called this "Engineering as a Service", we understood that only a portion of what a standards team does involves the engineering efforts. Illuminosi worked with your marketing and planning teams to define your strategy and tactics for standards work. We also provided technical updates to your sales teams, keeping them up to date on the latest proposals in the standards world. Several departments benefited from services Illuminosi's standards team provided.
Illuminosi's management had significant experience in organizational structure and the technologies needed to run an efficient standards organization.
